If you’re unsure, we encourage you to reach out—early support can make all the difference.

We conduct comprehensive developmental assessments using standardized tools, child observations, and parent interviews. The goal is to create a clear picture of your child’s strengths and areas of need.

Your first session includes a detailed discussion with our psychologist to understand your concerns, your child’s developmental history, and current behaviour. Based on this, we create a personalized action plan tailored to your child’s needs.

We can assess for developmental concerns and provide professional insights. However, formal diagnosis (e.g., for autism or ADHD) may require collaboration with a paediatrician, child psychiatrist, or clinical psychologist. We can refer or coordinate as needed.

Yes, we support children across a wide range of developmental profiles, including those with formal diagnoses like autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or ADHD. We work closely with families to create a customized, supportive plan.

Absolutely. We celebrate neurodiversity and work with children across all neurotypes—including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, and more. Our approach is inclusive, strengths-based, and supportive of your child’s individuality.

Yes. All techniques and strategies used at Thrive Tots are grounded in evidence-based child psychology and developmental research. We stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and adapt them to fit each child’s unique needs.

Every child is different. Some families notice improvements within a few weeks, while others may take longer. Our goal is steady, sustainable growth, and we work closely with you to track progress and adjust the plan as needed.

Sessions typically last around 1 hour and 30 minutes. The frequency varies based on your child’s individual needs—some attend weekly, while others benefit from twice a week sessions.

That’s perfectly fine. We welcome children with prior therapy experience. We’ll take time to understand what worked (and what didn’t), and design a plan that builds on your child’s past progress.

Parent Involvement & Communication

Absolutely. We strongly believe in a collaborative approach. Parents are encouraged to participate in sessions when appropriate and are provided with tools and strategies to continue support at home.

Yes, in many cases, parent involvement is encouraged. Depending on the therapy goals, we may recommend:

  • Direct participation (e.g., for coaching or modelling)

  • Observing quietly

  • Waiting nearby during independent play therapy sessions

We’ll always explain what’s best for your child’s growth and comfort.

We provide regular verbal or written feedback after sessions, and schedule milestone reviews at agreed intervals. Parents are welcome to ask questions anytime—we believe in open, ongoing communication.

Yes. With parental consent, we can coordinate with schools, speech therapists, paediatricians, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for your child.

We respect diverse parenting styles and cultures. Our guidance is rooted in:

  • Respectful parenting

  • Emotion coaching

  • Positive reinforcement

We work alongside you, not above you, to empower your family with tools that feel authentic and sustainable.

Child Readiness & Comfort

We recommend:

  • Letting them know they’ll be meeting a friendly adult who will play and talk with them

  • Keeping it light and pressure-free

  • Bringing any relevant medical or developmental documents

We also provide a pre-session parent guide upon booking.

That’s completely okay! We use a gentle, child-led approach to build rapport and trust. If your child is having a tough day, we’ll adapt the session to meet them where they are—no pressure, no judgment.

Yes! We offer programs that help children build the emotional, cognitive, and behavioural skills needed for a confident school start. This includes:
